Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have caused electricity outages in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were hurt while residents in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and dealt with interruptions to water systems, as stated by city officials.

Simultaneously, a young boy was fatally injured in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southern area, as reported by regional authorities.

Russian forces has increased assaults on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while the country's government has demanded "concrete actions" from allies to increase pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not window dressing but firm measures - from the United States, Europe and the major economies - in supplying protection systems and enforcing restrictions," was stated in a online statement.

Officials stated that 450 drones and several dozen missiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were laboring to repair systems.

A wave of strikes damaged power facilities and residential structures in the capital.

Several of the people wounded in the assaults on the capital have been hospitalized, per statements from local officials.

Local officials said the city came under heavy assaults throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child was killed and three other people were hurt.

The strikes come after evenings of aerial attacks in the region, parts of which are occupied by invading troops.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are more difficult to spot.

Government officials told the media that Moscow was intentionally trying to damage the national power system, with assaults already affecting energy systems.

He said utility staff and government agencies were anticipating additional strikes.
